Sync

There are two types of syncs, Sync and Re-Init (aka Re-Initialize). While they are similar, they perform a bit differently. Its important to remember that the sync runs automatically every 5 minutes. In most cases, Users/Drivers do not need to execute a sync.

Sync - When a sync is ran, only updated or new data is downloaded to the device. The device does this by tracking that last time a sync occurred for the current user (aka driver) and only asking the server for anything that has change since the last sync. There are two ways this sync is executed.

  • Automatically on login and every 5 minutes after login. (info) Sync interval can be configure in Engine settings, 5 minutes is the default
  • Manually, by selecting Menu - Sync

Re-Init - When a Re-Init sync is ran, all existing data is removed from the local database and re-downloaded from the server. If your device has been offline for more than a few days, you should run a re-init sync.

In both syncs, all updates/changes made on the device are sent to Cyan servers.

Out - Stores any data that has not be sent to the server. Normally you will nor see anything in the outbox unless your device is offline or has a poor connection.

Sent - Displays the last 10 transactions that have been sucessfully sent to the server.

Transaction is any peice of information that is moving from the device to thr server. This could be a new inspection, a acknowledgement of a verified inspection, etc.
