Geofencing in Simplicity Device Management

A Geofence Event is an alert trigger based on a GPS enabled device entering or leaving a pre defined geographical area; the defined area can be of any earthly size. The entire Geofence Alert rule creation process is defined below.

  1. Login to Simplicity at https://simplicity.cyan.us.com/MobiControl
    1. If you need an account, please email support@bluedotsolutions.com
  2. Select the Android+ tab from the tab list at the top of the page (Android+ is the second tab from the end)
  3. Select the Rules Tab in the lower left.
  4. Right click Alerts and select Create Alerts Rule


  5. Enter a Name for the rule, click Next.
  6. Select Geofence Event, click next
  7. Add Events, you'll need to create one or more events to trigger the rule.
    1. Click New
    2. Create a Fence, click New
    3. Select the event
    4. Select an Action (optional)
    5. Select an Alert
    6. Click OK and Next
  8. Assign the new rule to device(s) or Device Groups, click Next
  9. Choose a power policy for the GPS radio, click Next
  10. Select additional Actions, click Next
  11. Configure email alerts if needed, click Next
  12. Review the Rule and click Finish
