Pairing with MCP100/200
This procedure will only work on an MCP100/200 with a Bluetooth dongle provided by Blue Dot Solutions.
Before any devices can successfully sync through an MCP using Extended Productivity, the customer must complete two important steps:
- Subscribe and accept associated terms and conditions for Extended Productivity via Omnitracs Customer Portal
- Configure Operational Profile to specify which groups of MCP UA #’s you would like the Extended Productivity application applied to
Step-by-step guide
- Connect the Bluetooth dongle on your MCP (DB25 Null Modem cable -> MCP DB25 Connector)
- On your Android Device, go to Setting - Connections - Bluetooth
Some devices will have a different path to bluetooth settings
- Enable Bluetooth
- You should see the CYAN bluetooth device in the Available devices list.
- If you have several MCP's, reference the CYAN label on the Bluetooth device. The label will be the word "CYAN" followed by a number
- On your Andriod Device, tap Bluetooth device that you wish to pair with.
- If prompted for a password, enter 1234 or 0000
- You should now see a Paired status on your Android device.
Setting up the Cyan Engine for Bluetooth connections
- Go to Cyan engine settings, start the Cyan Engine and click Menu - Settings - Omnitracs (MCP).
Some devices have a hardware menu button in the lower left corner of the device. If you device does not, the menu button will be located in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Scroll down to Communication Mode and select Bluetooth
- Select MCP Bluetooth Device Name and enter CYAN or the full Bluetooth device name
- Select the hardware back button or the Cyan icon at the top to save and exit settings.
