Adapter error: OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded

Problem

Adapter error on Advanced Mobile Admin portal: Datastream.EWS.EWSSoapException: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded; This usually means the JVM heap size in EAM is too small.

 
Solution

(info) Unfortunately this will require a redeploy of EAM, which sounds harder than it is. Please follow the steps below. 

  1. Stop EAM Extended App Server 

  2. Open %EAMAPPDIR%\AppServer\depconfig\extended_properties.xml 

  3. Change JVM_MIN & JVM_MAX from 512 to 1024 or 2048 for every JVM MIN/MAX setting in the xml. 

  4. Open command prompt 

  5. Type "cd %EAMAPPDIR%\depconfig\" 

  6. Type "deploy" (this deploys the settings you just made) 

  7. Start EAM Extended App Server
